2022 Texas' Universal Ms
KATY
Hello everyone. My name is Katy Cervantes, and I am you 2022 Texas Universal Miss. I am 25 years old. I am working on my Master of Legal Studies in Health Law and Policy at Texas A&M University School of Law. I work for Central Counties Services as a services coordinator helping those with mental and intellectual disabilities. I have enjoyed the opportunity to represent Texas. Becoming a Queen for OLM was an amazing feeling. I have enjoyed the time with the contestants and the royalty. Becoming a queen has helped me feel strong and empowered. I have grown in more ways than I ever imagined.

I am married to my best friend Juan Cervantes, and we have three children together. Asteria (7), Nyinx (5) and your 2021 Texas Tiny Master Juan (1). OLM has been a family thing since 2019 when we entered Asteria. Besides pageant we enjoy participating in community service and Brazilian Jujitsu when I have time. My kids are my biggest fans because they always love to watch me dress up in my Queen outfits. Asteria loves to tell everyone how her mommy is a queen, and it always makes my day. I would not be able to be a Queen and a mom if it wasn’t for my husband. He helps with the kids and making sure I have everything for every pageant.
My interests are more about what I do for work. I love my job and being able to be an advocate for individuals with mental and Intellectual disabilities. I also like participating in jujitsu with my family, when I have time. My favorite thing to do is watch my children patriciate in extracurricular activities. I also enjoy making custom tumblers.
Being a part of OLM, I have had amazing opportunities to work with organizations that have really mean something to me. I have help with donations to the Scott and White McLane Children’s Hospital and to the Ronald McDonald house. These two places are important to me because these where we spend about a year of my middle child’s life. If it wasn’t for having a place to sleep that was close to the hospital and the amazing staff at the hospital, I have no idea what I would have done. I have also had the privilege to help with a Christmas toy drive and Caroling to our elders in Nursing homes.
I hope to see you at a preliminary, I plan to go to 11 this spring!
